Two of the Honda Cars Involved in the Accident
A ghastly motor accident involving three vehicles: two Honda cars and an Abuja green coloured commuter bus, with registration No. Anambra XC 749 ABN as the vehicles collided on each other. The accident which happened around 10.30am Monday, 9th June, took place along Mabushi-Kado Express Way.
Eye witness account says that one of the Honda cars on a high speed tried to avoid the commuter bus as the other Honda came from behind and hit it, jumping the road divide and found itself on the opposite side of the road, uprooting an electric pole.
Although no casualty was recorded, but observers say that, that express way had witnessed many accidents in the past. In fact accident occurrence is put at one each passing day. Drivers using that road have been blamed for excessive speeding which makes it difficult to control the vehicle when something happens. Government has been urged to carry-out an enlightenment campaign to sensitize motorists plying that road on the need to drive carefully, while on the stiring.
Reacting to the incident, officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission at the scene of the accident say the mishap was as a result of carelessness. They advised users of that express way and all roads generally in FCT to always apply caution while driving.
